In Search of a new web host

Today we ran into some technical issues with our present host - hostgator - who up until now - has been absolutely amazing. However - tonight - using the addon domain feature - we were able to completely delete one record for a major domain of ours. In the process - of course - we are now going to lose all of the traffic to that site as well as gaining a lot of headaches.

So here is what I am looking for - a webhost - with cpanel access - and everything that hostgator offers - as well as technical support that will actually fix your account when it is broken. Additioanlly I am looking for a company that will take less than 20 minutes to respond in live support chat, as well as support managers who will tell you what is really wrong and not just respond with a standard answer.

I have worked with several webhosts - and this by far was a bad experience. Hopefully hostgator can fix this in a timely manner and I will be able to find a new host and transfer everything to. The only host that has been worse than this is CI Host - a company that continued to send invoices and non payment notices after we payed the bill - and had the audacity to threaten to discontinue service.

BoldURL - New URL redirect service - just launched!

I just got an email about BOLDURL coming live to today - I must say I like it a lot. BOLDURL is owned and operated by the same people who run ByoAudio - which happens to be my favorite place to record audio and host audio - and an easy way to add audio to a website.

At first when I looked at it - I thought that BOLDURL was just another url shortening site - the same thing as tinyurl that we have all seen half a dozen of - but I found out that it is that but a lot more.

BOLDURL allows you to create a user account - and then view tracking statistics for your urls. You can even put in amounts for how much you make per sale and how much you are paying per click.

Later on BOLDURL will be adding conversion tracking statistics - needless to say - this will only get better from here!

Fair Ads Network - Sink or Swim?

Fair Ads Network launched January 27th, they are making many interesting claims on their website - will it sink or swim? Only time will tell how this company will fair.

Fair Ads Network is stating that they will be paying you for every advertiser you refer - $8 per $100 spent and for every publisher you refer - $4 for every $50 earned. They have set a limit to the number of members that they will accept in the initial launch - 9,985. There are less than 1,000 now - so feel free to hop on board.

Fair Ads Network has an upgraded membership available - however - from what we can tell - it is by no means worth while for what they are offering at this time - later on - maybe - but right now - not at all...
